New Chairs Named for Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine

Extensive nationwide searches have brought dynamic new leaders to the Department of Emergency Medicine and Department of Family Medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, effective immediately.

Christopher N. Miller, MD, MS, has been appointed Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Goutham Rao, MD, CM, has been named Chairman of Family Medicine. Both are highly respected clinicians, researchers and educators and are leaders in their fields.

Dr. Miller Christopher N. Miller, MD, MSjoins us from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Medical Director of the Center for Emergency Care. He earned consistent recognition as one of the top doctors in Cincinnati. In 2013, he was named the University of Cincinnati Medical Center’s National Doctors’ Day Collaborator of the Year.

Goutham Rao, MDDr. Rao comes to Cleveland from Evanston, Illinois, where he was Director of the Ambulatory Primary Care Innovations Group of the NorthShore University HealthSystem. He is nationally recognized as an expert in obesity and cardiovascular risks in ethnically and racially diverse populations.

 

 

We thank Edmundo Mandac, MD, and Wanda Cruz-Knight, MD, who have served since 2014 as interim Chairs of Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine, respectively.
