Welcome to the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine!

The Center for Emergency Medicine is committed to the three pillars of University Hospitals mission - To Heal. To Teach. To Discover.

Our recently built Center for Emergency Medicine is the home of our outstanding residency training program and is a designated Level I trauma center. We serve proudly our Cleveland community, accommodating 65,000 visits each year. We serve as the gateway to UH Cleveland Medical Center’s 1,032-bed quaternary campus which includes UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, UH Seidman Cancer Center and UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital. An affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, the UH team is recognized internationally for patient care, education and research excellence. Together, we form the largest center for biomedical research in the state of Ohio.

Our faculty and fellows are leaders in ultrasound, emergency medical services, event medicine, critical care, global health, system quality, clinical operations, and research and education. But our hallmark is service: to our patients, to our community, and to each other. Our team is made up of tremendous people who serve humbly at the tip of the health care spear. Our faculty, residents, advanced practice providers, nurses, and clinical/administrative staff are truly one family.

We are grateful you have chosen to explore our new website and learn more about us. Our Department’s future is indeed an exciting one — like our city, we are ‘rising’! Reach out anytime to learn more about our vision to be one of the premier Emergency Medicine programs in the country. Thank you!
