Pediatric Pain Service to Host Pain Management and Palliative Care Conference Week Sept. 16 – 20, 2019
The Pediatric Pain Service will present its fifth annual Pain Management and Palliative Care Week conference. This conference week occurs Monday, September 16th through Friday, September 20th.
Twelve different presentations will cover a variety of topics on pediatric and adult pain management and palliative care, including pain management for the non-verbal pediatric patient, caring for children at the end of life, a biosocial approach to comprehensive pain management, music therapy for pediatric pain management, integrative pain management and many others. Additionally, there will be presentations that focus on various aspects of pain management within the scope of the current state of the opioid crisis. These include updated guidelines and UH resources to controlled substance prescribing and substance use disorders in adolescents. Presentations will take place within University Hospitals' main campus venues and will be available live and by one-way WebEx broadcasting (there is no communication between presenter and viewer). Live attendees are eligible to receive CME or CNE credit on various presentations.
On Monday, Sept. 16th, a live CRME credit will be available for live physician attendees. Advance registration is required. This event will be listed via MED IQ as a LIVE Event worth 1 credit hour. Physicians can register for this event via the MED IQ website only at http://UHHS.elmexchange.com. Registration for this live CRME closes on 9/12/19 at 6pm.
